This is a faithful replica of the grips and medallions as seen equipped on the Desert Eagle a.k.a. the “Magnum” used by the main protagonist Leon S. Kennedy after he retrieved it from the watchman’s quarters at R.P.D., as seen in Resident Evil 2 (1998).‍ ‍

Unlike most gun grips that has two pieces, this grip uses a single piece construction with a unique and ornate design carved out of walnut, complete with gold “R.P.D. STAR” medallions. Judging from the medallions and the ornate appearance, one may deduce that this was intended for use as a commemorative issue, perhaps for presentation to certain R.P.D. officials? As for how it wound up at the watchman’s quarters is anyone’s guess.
